Weekly Weather Vibe (Nov 27 - Dec 3)
What a beautiful stretch of weather it was in the Midwest for the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. The week got off to an icy cold start, with overnight lows in the teens and afternoon highs in the 30s and even a few snow flurries on the heels of a rather wintry week prior. By Thanksgiving we'd warmed back up with plenty of sunshine & blue skies and high temperatures back in the 50s.
For the coming week, we've got a bit of a bumpier ride. We're seeing a little rain on our Sunday, amounting to around an inch across much of east-central Illinois. We'll be quiet on Monday, but another round of showers and thunderstorms accompanies another approaching storm system on Tuesday. Ahead of the Tuesday storm we'll see southerly winds usher in warmer temperatures, but another shot of cold air follows the storm Wednesday onward. Additionally, it's not entirely impossible we could hear a few rumbles of thunder on Tuesday night, or see a few stronger storms nearby.
Looking further ahead, the pattern looks to remain active with another chance for rain / snow from another storm system next weekend. Details/specifics remain low for now, but it appears we're moving away from the pattern that's delivered weeks of quiet, sunny weather to central Illinois.
