Extra Audio on Heat Advisory through Thursday:
Good Monday morning! It’s going to be an uncomfortably, in some cases, dangerously hot and humid week across the Midwest. A heat wave has settled over the area and will have afternoon high temperatures in the low to middle 90s through the end of the week, with overnight lows only falling into the middle 70s. Pop-up summertime thunderstorms may bring locally heavy downpours, but are not expected to bring significant rain or relief from the heat. Limit strenuous outdoor activities to the morning or late evening hours, and be sure to check on vulnerable people and pets nearby. Heat Advisory runs through Thursday evening, but high temps hit the 90s through Sunday with some gradual relief from the excessive heat next week.
