Good Monday morning! We’ve got a Cold Weather Advisory in effect today & tomorrow as an Arctic air mass settles over the Midwest. Wind chill values will fall as low as -10 to -20 through Wednesday morning. We may see a few snow flurries overnight into early Tuesday morning with no accumulation expected. Temperatures begin to return to normal Wednesday into the weekend.

TGIF! Look for a mostly quiet & mild today, and perhaps enjoy those balmy temperatures for an extra moment or two. We’ll see a little rain overnight, perhaps mixing with or changing over to snow after Midnight with no accumulation locally. Temperatures plummet through the back half of the weekend from a chilly Saturday, to a cold Sunday, to a frigid Monday onward into early next week. Bitterly cold temperatures linger until around Wednesday of next week before we start to moderate again.

Good Thursday morning! We’re about to head into the coldest stretch of the winter (so far!) and there are few overnight wintry events to talk about between now and then. Look for a quiet and relatively mild day today, with patchy freezing fog developing across the area tonight. This could lead to some slick roadways tonight into Friday morning, especially bridges and overpasses. It could also create some really pretty wintry scenes as fog freezes to tree branches, etc. Friday should be quiet and mild, but a little rain moves in overnight changing over to snow with no real accumulation expected. As temperatures drop below freezing Saturday morning, moisture on roadways could again freeze and cause some slick spots. Saturday into next week temperatures plummet into dangerously cold levels in a cold snap that should last 3-4 days.

Good Wednesday morning! We’ve got some extremely January weather in the forecast over the next two weeks. It’s bitterly cold out there today, but we should see some sunshine! A few snow flurries are possible overnight with no accumulation expected. Tomorrow should be quiet and a little warmer, with patchy freezing fog overnight into Friday morning. On Friday night into Saturday morning we’ll see a little rain/snow mix (doesn’t look TOO high impact, we’ll assess when it gets closer, perhaps slick roadways) before a big time cold snap early next week.

Good Tuesday morning! We may see a few snow flurries out there today but no accumulation is expected. Temperatures drop to around 0 degrees overnight, but several warmer days are just around the corner to finish up the week. Another shot of bitterly cold Arctic air is just around the NEXT corner though, arriving early next week.
